Over 300 stranded Indians return from UK in Air India flight

An aggregate of 329 individuals who were abandoned in the UK because of movement limitations showed up here in an Air India flight today morning. The extraordinary clearing flight AI 130 – worked with a Boeing 777 plane – which left from London on Saturday, arrived at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) at around 1.30 am with 326 Indians, a source said prior in the day. A common flying service representative said there were 329 travelers in the flight.

The flight is one of the 64 flights that are being worked via Air India and Air India Express as a component of “Vande Bharat Mission” to bring back Indians abandoned in various nations in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Two more clearing flights – one each from Singapore and Manila (Philippines) – are required to show up in Mumbai on Sunday, as indicated by the representative.

The departure from Singapore, AI 343, would convey 243 travelers while the departure from Manila, AI 387, would bring back 241 Indians, the representative said.

On Saturday, the Mumbai air terminal specialists said showing up travelers with side effects will be moved to separation focuses.

Asymptomatic travelers living in Mumbai will be moved to isolate offices like lodgings, while those from outside of the city will be shipped by the state to their separate region central command, it said.
